Hello hello, and happy August!
It’s crazy we’re 8 months into the year! The next few weeks will be a blur, so I’ll be getting a ton of work done now until Aug. 12. If you have anything timely you want to chat about, now is the time to touch base with me!
As a recap, I’ll be in the Hamptons this Wednesday to Sunday working on hotel reviews, destination guides, restaurant features, and social content, so reach out if you know of anything new/fun/exciting happening out East.
Next week, I’ll be off on a big trip. I’m heading to Canada, Hawaii, Japan, and LA, and will be back in NY until mid-September. I hope to not be at my computer too much (lol), so I probably won’t be answering a ton of many emails.
This week, I’m buckling down and mainly looking for luxury trends, so please send over any data. I’m also on the lookout for new hotel openings.
Here’s what I’m pitching:
Media Opps
I'm working on a travel piece about luxury hotels with contrast therapy and hydrothermal wellness experiences. For this, I'm really looking beyond the standard sauna-and-cold-plunge setup. I'm interested in properties offering things like: Nordic bathing circuits, mountainside saunas, lakeside or oceanfront cold plunges, notable hydrotherapy circuits, guided sauna rituals, spas centered on natural thermal waters, salt rooms/halotherapy, etc. If you represent a property with something distinctive in this space, please send details AND high-res images my way. I'm keeping the list to a small, well-curated selection, so specificity is helpful.
If I’ve visited a hotel your PR company represents, reach out if they have any cool new spa treatments. I’m working with a spa magazine and want to review hotel spas I’ve already been to.
I’m seeing “Lore Chasing” (aka travelers prioritizing out-of-the-ordinary experiences, unique stays, and once-in-a-lifetime moments over just checking off a destination). If you have a hotel/story idea/experience that fits this, send it my way.
I’m looking for luxury travel trends. Send over any info/data/stats you have.
I’m looking for luxury hotel openings in the next 3 months.
I’m always looking for super special/unique/standout luxury properties and destinations for CNT. If you know of any new openings, under-the-radar destinations, or anything with a strong sense of place, send me your favorites.
I’m looking to talk to hoteliers or GMs doing something different with guest experience (not just amenities, but real innovation in how a property runs). Would make a great feature!
I’m looking for new hotel openings for Travel + Leisure. (Please don’t pitch me if you’ve already pitched the team there. I’m looking to do a First In piece for them.)
DiningOut launched a New York site! Feel free to pitch me New York-based food roundups.
I’m writing a few pieces on upscale, under-the-radar NYC restaurants for FOUND NY. These can be hard to find since so many nice restaurants are buzzy, but if you have a favorite hidden gem (please, nothing viral on TikTok) or know someone I should talk to, I’d love to connect.
I’m focused on new NYC restaurant openings, creative chef collaborations, and emerging dining trends in the city for Eater. If you’ve noticed something interesting happening in the NYC food scene, I want to hear about it.
My Travel Schedule:
Aug. 5–8: Hamptons
Aug. 13–16: Muskoka, Canada
Aug. 16–22: Oʻahu & Kauaʻi
Aug. 23–30: Kyoto & Tokyo
Aug. 31–Sept. 9: Orange County, CA
Sept. 9: NYC
